Actor Raghav Juyal has come out in support of content creator-turned-actor Niharika NM, addressing the ongoing debate over influencers transitioning into films. The two will soon be seen together in the upcoming comedy Bhai Tera Star Hai, and Raghav believes talent should never be judged based on a person’s background.
Speaking during a recent interaction, Niharika dismissed the criticism surrounding influencers entering Bollywood. She said building a digital platform may help open doors, but it does not guarantee a successful acting career. According to her, surviving in the industry ultimately depends on performance, and she has no regrets about pursuing acting if it aligns with her dreams.
Backing his co-star, Raghav said India has a habit of putting people into categories such as television actors, dancers, comedians or influencers. He questioned why anyone should decide what another person is capable of achieving and stressed that every artist deserves an equal opportunity to prove themselves.
The actor also praised Niharika for stepping out of her comfort zone despite being highly successful as a content creator. He said leaving behind an established career to reinvent oneself in a completely different field requires courage and should be appreciated rather than criticized.
Raghav reflected on his own journey, recalling how he began as a background dancer before making his mark in television and eventually finding success as an actor. He believes labels often become the biggest hurdle for performers in India, making it difficult for them to break stereotypes and explore different kinds of roles.
Directed by Vivek B. Agrawal, Bhai Tera Star Hai stars Raghav Juyal and marks Niharika NM’s Bollywood debut. The comedy entertainer is scheduled to release in cinemas on July 31.
