What Is Prem Keetanu About?
The story follows Vishal Thakur, played by Veer Pahariya. Vishal is a young man trying to figure out his future after completing his education.
The film follows his experiences with friendship, love, career uncertainty and the pressures associated with becoming independent.
According to the film’s synopsis, Vishal is a young engineering graduate navigating one-sided love, early independence and modern relationships while trying to understand what he wants from life.
The film therefore combines a romantic storyline with the broader experiences of young people attempting to establish themselves.
Veer Pahariya as Vishal
Veer Pahariya plays Vishal Thakur, the central character of Prem Keetanu.
Vishal is portrayed as a young graduate who has not yet figured out his professional direction. His personal life is equally complicated, particularly when it comes to romance.
The role gives Veer an opportunity to explore a lighter and more comedic character following his debut in the action-oriented Sky Force.
His performance is therefore an important part of the film’s appeal for audiences interested in seeing the actor in a romantic-comedy setting.
Is Prem Keetanu a Remake of Premalu?
One of the biggest talking points surrounding the film before its release was its connection with the Malayalam hit Premalu.
Reports initially described Prem Keetanu as an official remake of the 2024 Malayalam romantic comedy Premalu. Bollywood Hungama reported in August that the Hindi film’s makers had acquired the remake rights.
However, there was also discussion around the film’s positioning and its similarity to the original. For audiences familiar with Premalu, this connection has naturally become an important part of the conversation surrounding Prem Keetanu.
The original Premalu starred Naslen and Mamitha Baiju and was directed by Girish A.D.
Music of Prem Keetanu

Why Prem Keetanu Is Getting Attention
There are several reasons why Prem Keetanu has attracted interest.
First, it features Veer Pahariya in his second major theatrical release. Audiences who saw him in Sky Force now get to see him in a completely different genre.
Second, the film brings together Veer with Aparshakti Khurana, an actor known for comedy and ensemble performances.
Third, director Apoorv Singh Karki is moving into a lighter genre after working on more serious projects.
Finally, the film’s connection with Premalu has made it particularly interesting for viewers familiar with the Malayalam original.
Prem Keetanu Review and Audience Appeal
The film has been positioned as a youthful romantic comedy rather than a heavy romantic drama. Recent reviews have highlighted its humour, youthful charm and relatable situations while also noting similarities to the original story.
At its core, the movie focuses on themes familiar to young audiences: friendship, unrequited love, career uncertainty, independence and the struggle to understand relationships.
This combination allows the film to balance emotional moments with comedy.
