Govinda has finally addressed the growing buzz around his equation with Roopa co-star Komal Rani, calling the controversy a planned attempt to damage his image and distance him from his family.
Govinda is finally speaking up about the rumours surrounding his relationship with his Roopa co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. The speculation intensified after the two were spotted together at Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja, where they sought Bappa’s blessings. Their appearance quickly became a talking point, with social media users questioning their equation.
Now, speaking to ANI, Govinda has broken his silence and claimed that the controversy is not simply random gossip. The actor alleged that there is a deliberate attempt to damage his reputation and create distance between him and his family.
“It is not anyone’s fault. This is a very strategically planned movement. Things are going to happen more. It was a part of the plan to distance me from my family and then tarnish my image in society. I never focused on anything other than my work. I kept working. Many would praise me,” Govinda said.
Govinda On The ‘Affair’ Buzz
But the actor’s next statement grabbed even more attention. Addressing the speculation about Komal Rani, Govinda said that his personal life should not become a public debate.
“This is not a subject for anyone… even if there is an affair. I am working and maintaining a professional relationship,” he said.
Govinda also explained why he visited Lalbaugcha Raja with Komal. According to the actor, the visit was connected to his upcoming film Roopa, which marks his return to work. He recalled visiting temples with actresses such as Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon in the past and associated those visits with good luck for his films.
“I went to Lalbaugcha to pray for my film Roopa. Earlier, I visited temples with Karisma Kapoor, and it turned out to be good luck for me. My films were a big hit. I also went with Raveena Tandon and now with Rani Swarnkar. I prayed as I am starting it again after a long time,” he said.
The actor also questioned why his film-related appearance had generated so much discussion.
“I don’t know what is the problem. If my film is getting started, why is there so much discussion around it? If we are getting famous, why do you have a problem?” he added.
The controversy comes amid months of public speculation about Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s marriage as well as his equation with Komal Rani. Govinda, however, has continued to describe Komal as his co-star and has maintained that their association is professional.
For now, Govinda’s latest comments have added another twist to the ongoing Bollywood buzz and made it clear that the actor wants the focus back on his work and his upcoming film Roopa.
