Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has opened up about his latest directorial ‘Bandar’, revealing that the version released in theatres was not the film he originally intended to present. The director said he could not fully associate himself with the final cut and stayed away from promotions as the theatrical version was different from his vision.
Kashyap recently spoke about the film during an interaction with Kunal Kamra, where he addressed the criticism surrounding Bandar. He explained that the changes made during the editing process altered the film’s perspective, making it difficult for him to completely stand behind the released version.
The filmmaker said that the criticism the movie received was understandable because the final version did not reflect the story and approach he had originally planned. According to him, creative differences and changes during the filmmaking process impacted the final outcome.
