Sudhanshu Pandey after exiting the hit Television series, Anupamaa, was in the news for his recently launched OTT series, The Traitors. Right from being the quiet player with no alleged strategy to probably the ‘dark horse’ on the show, the assumptions have been plenty. However the one trait that he stuck to from his Anupamaa days was being away from drama as much as possible. In an exclusive tell-all conversation with Mamaraazzi, Sudhanshu Pandey talks about all this and more.
The actor and singer talking about his Anupamaa shoot days said, “Long hours of shooting, a lot of politics that happens on the sets of Television, which I don’t understand, can’t relate to, ’cause I don’t belong from there… I kept to myself, I had my own space and I lived very comfortably through those 4 years ’cause I had nothing to do with the rest of the atmosphere that was there. I was not a part of it and I didn’t try to”
Further when asked about his friction with Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu said, “Television is such a place, it gets into your personal space… everybody is in such a close proximity all the time, and for such long periods of time… you don’t give each other space, you don’t respect each other’s space there is a certain dignity in every relationship that has to be maintained which I don’t think it’s a norm on television. It’s a beautiful industry… but certain atmosphere in that daily show scenario, is very unfortunate… it can always be better, but I don’t know why is it like that? I hope in the future there are actors… that come with a better mindset, where… everybody can work peacefully without getting into each other’s space and without spreading any negativity because that is the biggest issue, too much negativity that happens on sets and for what reason I don’t even know.”
Having given years to the Television show, the actor still considers ‘Anupamaa’ to be a blessing in a distraught time. On the work front, Sudhanshu, who is a part of ‘A Band Of Boys’, will be dropping another number also featuring the legendary Asha Bhosale by the end of June. And well, only time will tell if ‘The Traitors’ has Sudhanshu Pandey as the winner.
