Aasif Khan’s comment about moustaches and masculinity did not sit well with several Bigg Boss 20 housemates or viewers online.
Bigg Boss 20 is once again buzzing with controversy and this time Aasif Khan has landed in the spotlight over his comments about moustaches and masculinity.
During a recent task inside the Bigg Boss house, Aasif defended Yung DSA during a discussion about his moustache. While making his point, Aasif said that in Rajasthan, a moustache is considered a symbol of identity and suggested that men without moustaches are not considered “real men.”
The remark immediately caught attention with some housemates disagreeing with his take.
Gullu challenged Aasif’s argument, pointing out that many men do not sport moustaches. Aman Gandhi also disagreed with the sentiment.
Mahhi Vij was more direct in her response. She argued that being a “real man” has nothing to do with having a moustache. According to Mahhi, a man’s behaviour, relationships and ability to keep his family together matter more than his appearance.
Aasif’s Comment Sparks Online Debate
The discussion did not stop inside the Bigg Boss house. Clips of Aasif’s statement quickly made their way onto social media, where viewers debated his views on masculinity.
Some users criticised the comment and called the thinking outdated, while others questioned the idea of linking facial hair with manhood. One viewer wrote that they would rather see a man with “morals” than simply a moustache.
The controversy comes after Aasif has already faced criticism during his Bigg Boss 20 journey over his behaviour inside the house.
Meanwhile, the current week’s nominations have also added to the drama, with Yung DSA and Isha Rikhi facing eviction.
With tensions rising inside the house, it remains to be seen whether Aasif will address the backlash over his statement in the upcoming episodes.
