In a recent interview with Mamaraazzi, Dheeraj spoke about how different Shilpa appeared during their everyday interactions compared to how he felt she presented herself in front of the cameras.

Recalling his mornings with Shilpa, Dheeraj said, “Subah jab main Shilpa ji se milta tha, main unko ‘Good morning’ bolta tha. She is a totally different person, and woh makeup karke jab ready ho jaati thi, she is a totally different person.”
Dheeraj went on to question whether anyone could genuinely maintain the same personality and behaviour for 24 hours under constant surveillance. Comparing what viewers see on television to what contestants experience inside the house, he explained, “Aap log ek ghante ka telecast dekhte the, we were looking at her for 24 hours. 24 hours koi aisa nahi reh sakta yaar. She is not that person. She is absolutely… and she is a great actor.”
According to Dheeraj, Shilpa’s behaviour would change once she was ready and the cameras were around. He also alleged that she would pick fights and provoke situations, making him question whether some of her actions were consciously planned for the cameras.
“Then she is picking the fights, she is instigating you. Toh aap socho, kya aapko lagta hai ki mujhe is tareeke se behave karna hai, is tareeke se camera se baat karni hai, is tareeke ka angle dekhna hai — yeh sab?” Dheeraj said.
He further addressed the perception that he and some other contestants were behaving like a group of “actors” inside the house. Dheeraj clarified that their unity was not an example of groupism, but rather a result of having similar opinions about reality shows.
“So you are more prepared, and you are calling us the actors. Aur hum logon ka agar actors ka group dikh raha tha, woh isliye tha because our thought process is the same about reality shows. And we are not okay with certain things. That’s why we started being together,” he explained.
Dheeraj stressed that there was no hidden alliance or strategy behind his relationships inside the house. According to him, the contestants simply came together because they shared a similar way of looking at the show.
“Hum saath aana shuru hue. It was not groupism or something, it was just like-minded thinking. Nothing more than that,” he said.
Putting the speculation around his game to rest, Dheeraj made it clear that he was playing for himself and nobody else. He also revealed that had he got the opportunity, he would have targeted Ram Kapoor as well.
“Nobody. I was not playing for anyone, no one was playing for me, and I was playing my own game. Kal ko mujhe mauka milta, toh main Ram Kapoor ko bhi out karta,” Dheeraj concluded.
