Content creator and actor Shreya Kalra has emerged as one of the more outspoken contestants on the confinement-based reality show Lock Upp Season 2. For 26 episodes, all three of her personal secrets stayed hidden from the house — until episode 27, when fellow contestant Akanksha Choudhary chose to expose one of them as part of a task, putting Shreya at risk in the game.
Forced to come forward, Shreya revealed her secret using the keyword “cousin.”
“I Didn’t Want This Coming Out”
Before sharing the details, Shreya explained why she’d fought so hard to keep this particular secret under wraps. She said she wasn’t trying to protect her spot in the finale — she felt confident she’d already earned that through her overall performance on the show. Her real concern, she said, was the impact this revelation could have on her family, which is why she’d asked Akanksha not to bring it up.
She then shared that she was molested by a cousin when she was 13 years old, during visits to her grandmother’s house, where she and her cousins would sleep together in one hall. She said she didn’t fully understand what was happening to her at the time. Very few people know about the incident — she said only her partner, Rishabh Jaiswal, had been told before now. Her own mother remains unaware.
Shreya was clear that she wasn’t looking for sympathy, saying she doesn’t see herself as a victim and doesn’t want to be treated as one once she’s back in the outside world.
The Weight of Staying Silent
Explaining why she’d kept this from her mother specifically, Shreya said the cousin in question lost his own mother young, and that her mother had personally looked after him for close to three years afterward — making the situation more complicated to unpack within the family.
She also pointed to a more immediate concern: her brother is getting married in November, after an earlier engagement fell through amid controversy tied to her own career in the entertainment industry. Shreya said she was afraid that going public with this now could once again disrupt her family, right as her brother had a chance at happiness.
She ended her account with visible emotion, reflecting on the irony of the moment — someone who regularly tells others to stand up for themselves, yet had never been able to say this out loud herself. She also revealed that despite everything, she had attended her cousin’s wedding with her family, and said she worried about how her mother, whom she described as less emotionally resilient than herself, would react on seeing this play out.
Housemates Rally Around Her
The revelation visibly shook the house. Fellow contestants Pamela Serena, Shivangi Joshi, and Akanksha Chamola stepped in to comfort Shreya, urging her to stay composed and reminding her not to lose herself in the moment.
Lock Upp Season 2, hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, streams on Netflix with new episodes airing Saturday through Thursday at 8 PM.
