Vicky Kaushal has opened up about the emotional challenges of fatherhood, revealing that being away from his son Vihaan for work has been the most difficult part of his parenting journey.
Speaking about returning to work after taking six weeks off following Vihaan’s birth, Vicky recalled the moment he realized he would be away from his son for several days while shooting.
“My heart sank. It was hard. There are so many new feelings that surface almost on a daily basis, because being a parent is new to me,” Vicky shared.
The actor also spoke about how becoming a father has completely changed his perspective on time and growth.
“I understand now when others would say, ‘Yaar, bacha kitna jaldi bada ho raha hai.’ And I would think, ‘What are you talking about? Your child is still a year old.’ Now I get it.”
In another candid reflection on parenting, Vicky admitted that fatherhood has made him more conscious of the example he sets for his son.
“It occurs to me at the most random moments that that is now my responsibility towards my son. He is going to learn by observing how his parents are thinking, talking, and behaving.”
The actor added that actions matter more than words when it comes to raising a child, emphasizing the importance of leading by example.
Vicky and Katrina Kaif welcomed their son Vihaan in November last year and have largely kept their family life away from the public eye. However, the actor’s recent comments offer a rare glimpse into his life as a father and the emotional transformation that has come with it.
