Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has issued a clarification regarding the viral IPL-related video that recently sparked widespread discussion on social media. Taking to Instagram Stories, the actress addressed the controversy and called out a fake statement that was being circulated in her name.
Nushrratt explained that the sounds heard in the video were from a young puppy at her friend’s house while she was watching the IPL final. She wrote that people had created unnecessary controversy over “the sound of a puppy crying” and revealed that a fake clarification had also been issued on her behalf.
Sharing another video from the same evening, the actress attempted to provide context and clear the air surrounding the clip. She also expressed disappointment over the way the incident was interpreted online and urged people not to jump to conclusions based on assumptions.
In a strongly worded message, Nushrratt asked social media users to “calm your wild thoughts down” and reminded people that having access to a mobile phone does not justify harassment or the spread of misinformation.
The actress additionally flagged a viral note attributed to her, marking it as “fake” and clarifying that she had never issued the statement being shared across social media platforms.
