The popular celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan is preparing for another entertaining episode, with actors Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan set to appear on the iconic couch hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar. However, the upcoming episode has an additional surprise in store for viewers: Arjun Kapoor will also make a special appearance.
The newly released promotional video offers a glimpse of the lively conversations, playful teasing and candid exchanges that audiences have come to associate with the show. With three familiar Bollywood faces sharing the screen, the episode promises plenty of humour and interesting interactions.
According to reports published on October 23 and 24, 2026, Arjun will join Janhvi and Varun for a special segment, including a rapid-fire round. The promo also hints at a conversation about the period when Karan Johar reportedly stopped speaking to Varun and Janhvi, creating an intriguing moment between the host and his guests.
Arjun Kapoor Makes a Surprise Appearance
The biggest surprise in the promo is Arjun Kapoor’s entry. While Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan are the main guests, Arjun joins them midway through the episode, bringing an additional layer of humour to the conversation.
Arjun and Janhvi previously appeared together on Koffee With Karan Season 6 in 2018. Their earlier appearance gave viewers a glimpse of their sibling bond and personal experiences. Their reunion on the show is therefore another opportunity for audiences to see them interact in a familiar setting.
This time, Arjun’s appearance also brings Varun into the conversation. The actor shares a friendly equation with both stars, and the promo suggests that the trio will participate in some light-hearted exchanges.
The special appearance is particularly interesting because it expands the episode beyond the usual two-guest format. Rather than focusing exclusively on Janhvi and Varun, the show introduces another celebrity into the conversation, creating opportunities for unexpected jokes and candid responses.
Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor Discuss Their Differences With Karan Johar
Another major talking point from the promo is the conversation about Karan Johar’s reported period of silence towards Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor.
In the teaser, Karan warns viewers that his guests will reveal a less restrained side of themselves on the couch. The conversation then moves towards the filmmaker’s relationship with the two actors and a time when they were reportedly not on speaking terms.
Varun appears particularly eager to discuss the subject. In a humorous moment, he stands on the table and insists that viewers should know the identities of the two people Karan had stopped talking to.
Karan responds by saying that he felt hurt by both of them. The exchange suggests that the episode will revisit an earlier disagreement, although the full context behind the reported fallout is not completely established in the promotional clip.
Janhvi also joins the conversation with a humorous remark, saying that she gained weight during the period when Karan was not speaking to her.
The exchange appears to be presented in a playful manner, with the guests using humour to discuss an uncomfortable period in their relationships. Whether the full episode reveals more about what happened remains something viewers will have to watch to find out.
Varun Calls Karan Johar Dramatic
Varun Dhawan adds another memorable moment when he jokingly accuses Karan Johar of being overly dramatic.
The actor compares the filmmaker’s behaviour to Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Yashvardhan Raichand, from the iconic Bollywood film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
The reference brings a familiar Bollywood touch to the exchange. In the film, Bachchan’s character is known for his commanding personality and dramatic family interactions. Varun uses that character as a humorous comparison while discussing Karan’s reaction during their reported disagreement.
Karan, who has directed and produced several major Bollywood films, is also known for his expressive hosting style. His conversations on Koffee With Karan frequently include jokes about celebrity friendships, professional relationships and personal experiences.
The promo uses this dynamic to create a lively exchange between the host and his guests. Rather than offering a detailed explanation of the reported disagreement, the teaser focuses on their banter and the way they respond to one another.
The complete episode may provide further context, but the promo alone does not establish every detail behind the reported differences.
Varun Dhawan Names Arjun Kapoor for Career and Marriage Advice
Arjun’s surprise appearance also leads to one of the teaser’s lighter moments.
During a segment about advice, Varun is asked whom he would approach for guidance on his career and marriage. He immediately names Arjun Kapoor.
The response becomes a playful highlight because it places Arjun in the role of a trusted adviser. The moment also reflects the friendly relationship between the actors, who are comfortable joking with one another in front of the cameras.
The show has frequently used rapid-fire questions and unexpected celebrity pairings to encourage spontaneous responses. Such segments often generate memorable exchanges because guests must respond quickly rather than deliver prepared answers.
In this case, Varun’s answer gives Arjun a prominent role in the episode even though he is appearing as a special guest rather than one of the main couch guests.
The teaser does not provide an extended explanation of Varun’s choice, so viewers should not interpret the exchange as a detailed account of his private decision-making. For now, it remains a humorous moment from the promotional video.
Janhvi Kapoor Mentions Ravi Kishan’s Instagram Account
Janhvi Kapoor also gets a moment of her own during the episode’s promotional clip.
When asked to name an Instagram account that she finds entertaining, Janhvi chooses actor and politician Ravi Kishan. She also imitates one of his widely circulated punchlines, adding another humorous moment to the teaser.
Her response demonstrates the informal format of the show, where celebrities are encouraged to discuss social media, popular culture and personalities they find interesting.
The mention of Ravi Kishan also adds a topical reference to the conversation. His screen presence and memorable dialogue delivery have made him a recognisable figure among audiences who follow Hindi-language films and online entertainment clips.
Janhvi’s imitation gives the segment a playful tone and offers a break from the discussion about her relationship with Karan Johar.
The moment is another example of how Koffee With Karan mixes personal anecdotes with entertainment-industry references to keep its conversations varied.
Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan’s On-Screen Partnership
The upcoming episode also brings together Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, who have previously worked together in films including Bawaal and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
Their professional association gives the conversation an additional point of interest. The two actors can discuss their experiences working together, their observations about the industry and their individual journeys in Bollywood.
Janhvi, daughter of the late actor Sridevi and film producer Boney Kapoor, made her acting debut with Dhadak in 2018. Since then, she has appeared in projects across different genres and continued to build her career in Hindi cinema.
Varun, son of filmmaker David Dhawan, made his Bollywood debut with Student of the Year in 2012. He subsequently appeared in romantic comedies, dramas and action-oriented projects, establishing himself as a familiar face in mainstream Hindi films.
Their appearance together on the show gives viewers an opportunity to see the actors outside their usual film roles. The promo focuses on their chemistry, jokes and interactions with Karan, rather than revealing the entire conversation.
Koffee With Karan Season 9: What to Expect
Hosted by Karan Johar, Koffee With Karan has become one of Indian entertainment television’s best-known celebrity chat shows. The format combines personal conversations, rapid-fire questions, games and candid discussions about the film industry.
Season 9 began streaming on October 14, 2026. The opening episode featured Salman Khan, with Karisma Kapoor making a special appearance. The second episode featured Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda.
The upcoming episode featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan continues the season’s approach of pairing prominent actors for conversations about their careers and personal experiences. Arjun Kapoor’s appearance adds another element to the format.
The promotional clip suggests that the episode will include discussions about friendships, disagreements, career advice and social media. It also offers a chance for viewers to see how Karan responds when his guests turn the questions back on him.
The episode is scheduled to stream on Wednesday, October 28, at 7 PM on JioHotstar, according to reports about the promo.
Why Arjun Kapoor’s Appearance Is Generating Interest
Arjun Kapoor’s presence is a major talking point because it brings together three actors with established connections in the Hindi film industry.
For Janhvi, the appearance also marks another on-screen reunion with her brother on Koffee With Karan. For Varun, Arjun’s entry creates an opportunity for friendly banter and the rapid-fire exchange about advice.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s reported differences with Janhvi and Varun provide a central storyline for the teaser. Their humorous remarks suggest that the subject will be discussed openly, though the precise circumstances behind the reported fallout remain unclear from the promo alone.
The combination of familiar relationships, Bollywood references and spontaneous questions gives the upcoming episode several elements likely to interest fans of the show.
As with any promotional teaser, however, it offers only selected moments from the episode. The full conversation may contain additional details that have not yet been revealed.
Conclusion
Arjun Kapoor is set to make a special appearance alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan on Koffee With Karan 9.
