Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit brought her trademark grace and charisma to the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, leaving host Amitabh Bachchan visibly impressed. The actor made a special appearance as part of the show’s celebrations for Bachchan’s birthday week and recreated the magic of her iconic Devdas performance.
A new promo from the upcoming episode shows Madhuri performing to “Kaahe Chhed Mohe” from Devdas after Amitabh Bachchan requested the song. Even while seated on the hot seat, Madhuri recreated the character’s expressive style with her signature gestures and facial expressions.
Madhuri Dixit Recreates Her Iconic Devdas Magic
The special moment began when Amitabh Bachchan asked the show’s computer to play a song specifically for Madhuri. As Kaahe Chhed Mohe began playing, Madhuri instantly slipped into the mood of her iconic Devdas character.
Dressed in an elegant pink outfit, the actress performed while remaining seated on the hot seat. Her expressions, hand movements and classical dance-inspired gestures delighted the studio audience.
Amitabh Bachchan was equally entertained. The veteran actor could be seen applauding and walking around the set as he watched Madhuri’s performance.
He praised her enthusiastically, calling the performance “incredible” and expressing his admiration for Madhuri.
Amitabh Bachchan’s Reaction Becomes a Highlight
The interaction between the two veteran stars quickly became the centre of attention in the promo.
Amitabh Bachchan’s enthusiastic reaction added another layer of nostalgia to the moment. Both actors are among the most recognisable names in Hindi cinema, and their appearance together on Kaun Banega Crorepati created a memorable television crossover.
The promo also gave viewers a glimpse of the relaxed and celebratory atmosphere expected during Amitabh’s birthday-week special.
Fans reacted enthusiastically after the promo was released, with many praising Madhuri’s performance and expressing excitement about seeing the two stars together on the KBC stage.
Madhuri Dixit Appears as a Celebrity Contestant
Madhuri’s appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 is part of a special birthday-week episode dedicated to Amitabh Bachchan.
Rather than appearing as the show’s host, Madhuri joins Amitabh as a celebrity contestant. The special combines the show’s quiz format with entertainment, conversations and performances.
The episode is particularly significant because Madhuri is currently preparing for another association with the KBC franchise through the Marathi adaptation, Kon Honar Crorepati.
Madhuri Returns to Hosting With Kon Honar Crorepati
Madhuri Dixit is set to return to television hosting with Kon Honar Crorepati, the Marathi adaptation of the popular quiz-show format.
The actor’s return to the host’s chair comes after more than two decades. She previously hosted Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai in 2002 and subsequently became a familiar face on television through dance reality shows.
With Kon Honar Crorepati, Madhuri will take on a new role within a format closely associated with Amitabh Bachchan in its Hindi version.
The Marathi version is scheduled to premiere on October 12, 2026, on Sony Marathi and Sony LIV.
A Special KBC Birthday Week for Amitabh Bachchan
The Madhuri Dixit episode is part of the celebrations surrounding Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday.
The veteran actor will turn 84 on October 11, 2026, and Kaun Banega Crorepati is marking the occasion with a special birthday-week celebration.
The special episodes are expected to feature celebrity guests, nostalgic conversations and entertaining moments alongside the regular quiz format.
Madhuri’s appearance has already generated considerable interest because of her long-standing connection with Hindi cinema and her upcoming role as host of the Marathi KBC adaptation.
Why Madhuri’s Devdas Performance Stands Out
Madhuri Dixit’s performance in Devdas remains one of the most remembered aspects of the 2002 Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. Her portrayal of Chandramukhi combined classical dance, expressive acting and elaborate choreography.
Her brief recreation on KBC therefore brought back memories of the film for viewers.
The fact that she performed while seated made the moment even more spontaneous. Rather than a full-scale dance performance, Madhuri relied on expressions and hand gestures to recreate the essence of the song.
The promo has consequently attracted attention from fans who remember the original performance.
Two Television Icons Share the KBC Stage
The appearance also represents a meeting of two major television personalities.
Amitabh Bachchan has been closely associated with Kaun Banega Crorepati since the show’s launch in India in 2000. His presence transformed the quiz programme into one of Indian television’s most recognisable formats.
Madhuri, meanwhile, has spent decades moving between films and television, particularly through dance-based reality shows.
Her upcoming role as the host of Kon Honar Crorepati marks a new chapter in her television career.
The crossover therefore brings together Amitabh’s long association with the Hindi version and Madhuri’s new role in the Marathi adaptation of the format.
When Will the Madhuri Dixit KBC Episode Air?
The special Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 episode featuring Madhuri Dixit is scheduled to air on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 9 PM on Sony Entertainment Television. The episode will also be available through Sony LIV.
Viewers can expect Madhuri’s appearance to combine the show’s quiz format with entertainment, nostalgia and her interaction with Amitabh Bachchan.
Madhuri Dixit’s Next Television Chapter
While her KBC appearance is being discussed for her performance, Madhuri’s biggest television development this month is her new hosting role.
Kon Honar Crorepati is scheduled to premiere on October 12. The show will see Madhuri interact with contestants, hear their stories and guide them through the quiz.
The actor has described the programme as a platform that celebrates knowledge, aspirations and the courage to dream.
Her transition from Bollywood star and reality-show judge to quiz-show host is expected to give the Marathi adaptation its own personality.
Conclusion
Madhuri Dixit’s appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 has already created a buzz thanks to her spontaneous recreation of her iconic Devdas performance.
With Amitabh Bachchan cheering her on, the moment became a celebration of two enduring stars of Indian entertainment. At the same time, Madhuri’s appearance serves as a preview of her upcoming journey as the host of Kon Honar Crorepati.
As the KBC birthday-week celebrations continue, fans will be watching to see more interactions between Amitabh Bachchan and his celebrity guests.
