Salman Khan has slammed social media trolls for targeting Katrina Kaif over her post-pregnancy weight, saying celebrities should not be body-shamed for becoming parents.
Salman Khan had plenty to say during the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 20, and this time, his comments went beyond the drama inside the house. The superstar took aim at the culture of online trolling and specifically defended Katrina Kaif, who has recently faced criticism over changes in her body after pregnancy.
Salman Calls Out The Troll Culture
While discussing the way celebrities are targeted online, Salman pointed out how social media has become a source of income for many people. However, he also questioned the practice of generating engagement by constantly attacking public figures.
According to Salman, trolls often comment on everything from a celebrity’s appearance and weight to their family and personal life. He said that hiding behind social media accounts makes it easier for people to make harsh comments about others whom they may never actually meet.
The actor also questioned why becoming a mother or getting older should become an excuse for online abuse.

Salman then turned his attention to the trolling faced by Katrina Kaif after her pregnancy.
Calling the behaviour “dirty”, Salman questioned why anyone would target a woman simply because her body changed after giving birth. He also pointed out that weight gain during and after pregnancy is completely normal.
The Bigg Boss host suggested that Katrina should be allowed to spend time with her family without being subjected to unnecessary pressure about her appearance. He added that when she returns to work, she can focus on getting back into the shape required for her professional commitments.

Katrina wasn’t the only celebrity Salman mentioned. The actor also spoke about the criticism he receives over his age and appearance.
Salman joked that at 60, he cannot be expected to look exactly the way he did during the Maine Pyaar Kiya era. His larger point was that age should not automatically become a reason for people to mock someone.
