The buzz around Netflix’s upcoming reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa just got even bigger. In a newly released promotional video, fan-favourite Munawar Faruqui makes a dramatic return to the infamous jail that once changed his life but this time, he’s not entering as an inmate.
The video begins with Munawar cheekily breaking into the all-new Lock Upp, joking that neither he nor the prison can stay away from each other for too long. As he makes his way through the revamped setup, viewers get an exclusive glimpse of the show’s upgraded world, including the inmates’ cells, living quarters, jailers’ room and several never-seen-before areas.
However, the biggest twist arrives towards the end.
Just as Munawar prepares to leave, the makers unveil two of the newest inmates set to enter Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa reality TV personalities Akanksha Chaudhary and Yogesh Rawat.
The reveal is particularly interesting given the history between the two. Their recent reality show journey kept audiences hooked and sparked countless conversations online. Now, fate has brought them together once again, this time inside one of the most unpredictable reality shows in the country.
Speaking about his participation, Yogesh Rawat promised viewers that they would get to see his most authentic side inside the jail.
“The raw and real Yogesh that people connected with is exactly what they’re going to see inside Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa.”
Akanksha Chaudhary, meanwhile, hinted that the show will finally allow her to address several questions that fans have been asking for a long time.
“I feel there are many things my fans still want answers to, and Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa will give me the space to finally share my side. And of course, it was always a dream to collaborate with Netflix.”
The promo also teases several surprises in store for contestants and viewers alike. At one point, a mysterious neckband triggers alarms across the prison, hinting that the format may feature unexpected twists, challenges and punishments that could dramatically alter the game.
With Munawar Faruqui’s return, surprise inmate reveals, and many more contestants yet to be announced, Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about reality shows of the season.
One thing is certain inside this jail, secrets won’t stay hidden for long.
Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa premieres on June 27 and will stream every Saturday to Wednesday at 8 PM, exclusively on Netflix.
