TitleEXCLUSIVE! Rubina Dilaik Reveals She Was Asked To Have ‘Badams’ For Baby Boy

Television actress Rubina Dilaik has always been known for speaking her heart out, and this time, the actress got candid about the endless pregnancy myths and traditional advice she encountered during motherhood. In an exclusive conversation with us, Rubina opened up about how fear, pressure, and generational beliefs often influence expecting mothers admitting that she herself ended up trying many of those remedies before eventually laughing at them later.

    Recalling the bizarre suggestions she constantly heard during pregnancy, Rubina shared, “बेटा बदाम खा ले ना… आठ से दस बेटा इंचॉर्स बेटा हो जाता है… दूध में केसर पी लो… oranges ज़्यादा खाओ… ice cream खाओ.”

The actress admitted that she genuinely followed several of these tips at one point because everyone around her strongly believed in them.

“I quite fell for few. I tried and tested. I don’t feel like eating them, why do I eat them?,” she confessed honestly.

Rubina further explained how pregnancy becomes one of the most emotionally vulnerable phases in a woman’s life, which naturally makes fear-driven advice harder to ignore.

“The fear is so strong, because you are in your most vulnerable state. Then you would want to do everything to ensure it is smooth and nice,” she said.

The actress also spoke about how women are constantly surrounded by warnings and restrictions during pregnancy from being told not to step outside at certain times to being asked to wear specific colours to stay protected from negativity or “evil energies.”

“The fear so much instilled in you… iss waqt bahar mat jaana… cover yourself and go… wear a certain colour so that you are protected,” Rubina recalled.

However, Rubina clarified that while many of these practices may have originated from ancestral wisdom, over time they transformed into pressure-filled expectations rather than conscious choices.

“I understand it comes from ancestral knowledge and everything. But it kind of has gotten modified in such a way that it has become more of a pressure point of making you follow because it’s been going on for centuries,” she explained.

One of the most relatable moments from the conversation came when Rubina jokingly said:

“Bhagwan ne do kaan kyun diye? Ek kaan se sunna, doosre kaan se bahar.”

Despite laughing about the experience today, the actress admitted she followed many rituals simply because people around her believed in them so strongly.

“I also followed them. I would not say no no no no… I have done them. But I’ve realized and laughed at them. I was like okay, I did it, no problem. At least I have a satisfaction,” she added with a smile.

Rubina Dilaik’s brutally honest confession has now struck a chord with women across social media, many of whom related to the emotional confusion, anxiety, and endless unsolicited advice that often surrounds pregnancy in Indian households.

Fans online praised the actress for speaking openly about motherhood without glamorising it and for normalising the emotional pressure many women silently experience during pregnancy. Several users called her statements “refreshingly real” and appreciated how she addressed maternal anxiety and societal expectations with honesty and humour.

Over the years, Rubina has earned admiration for fearlessly speaking about personal experiences, relationships, mental health, and now motherhood as well. And with this latest candid revelation, the actress has once again proven why audiences connect with her honesty far beyond the television screen.
