SRK, Aryan Khan may be called to record statements in Sameer Wankhede bribery case

Aryan Khan was detained in an alleged narcotics case back in October 2021, which garnered media attention. Sameer Wankhede, a former zonal director for the Narcotics Control Bureau, is currently being investigated. The Central Bureau of Investigation is looking into a claim that Sameer Wankhede asked Shah Rukh for a Rs 25 crore bribe in exchange for keeping his son Aryan out of the narcotics case. According to the most recent report, the CBI is likely to contact SRK and his son Aryan to record their statements in relation to the issue.
According to sources, SRK allegations are significant because the accused Kiran Gosavi and Sanville D’Souza requested Rs 25 crore from him. According to a representative who spoke to the portal, “We will shortly record the testimony of Aryan Khan, who was detained by NCB, and SRK, from whom the accused Kiran Gosavi and Sanville D’Souza requested 25 crore at Wankhede’s direction. To unravel the plot, it is vital to record their remarks. According to the report, the CBI ‘partially interrogated’ Sameer in May, but the organisation is still awaiting the court’s consent before formally questioning him. Until June 23, Sameer is protected from arrest under an interim order from the Bombay High Court.
Aryan was arrested by the NCB on October 2, 2021, and he was granted bail on October 28, 2021. The extortion attempt is linked to Aryan’s arrest because no drugs were found on him. Back then, the agency portrayed Aryan as an ‘international dealer’. Eventually, the agency said that Aryan was ‘deliberately targeted’.
CBI booked Sameer, four others, including VV Singh Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Superintendent, intelligence officer Ashish Ranjan and two private persons KP Gosavi and D’Souza on May 11 for alleged criminal conspiracy and threat of extortion. In the FIR filed, the CBI alleged that “Gosavi, D’Souza and others had entered into a conspiracy to extort an amount of Rs 25 crores from the family members of Aryan by threatening them with the accusation of offences of possession of narcotics substances. This amount was finally settled for Rs 18 crores. A token amount of Rs 50 lakh was also taken by Gosavi and his aide D’Souza but later a part of this amount of Rs 50 lakh bribe money was returned back by them.”
The Indian Revenue Service (IRS) employee Sameer Wankhede and D’Souza were previously questioned by the CBI on the issue. However, Sameer has refuted all of the accusations, claiming that the CBI’s move against him is a “act of retaliation.”
