And this time, the actress attended the Cannes Film Festival 2023 in the most unexpected way. She was photographed on the red carpet on May 21 in a Christian Dior red couture gown, which had strappy detail and a carry-on.
It was a silk crepe gown by Maria Grazia Chiuri that Jennifer wore at the premiere of the film Anatomy of a Fall by Justine Triet. She paired her gorgeous red floor-sweeping dress with a statement diamond necklace, straight hair that had a middle partition, smokey eyes and glossy lips. While the overall appearance screamed highly of a red-carpet effect, Jennifer Lawrence went on to add a little fun vibe – a relatable detail – to the look by wearing casual black flip-flops, signifying that comfort is king.
The choice of footwear certainly provided an eye-popping moment for the photographers and the audience, making her red-carpet moment even more epic than it was already. She descended the Palais des Festivals steps in her comfy shoes.
The moment reminded many of Kristen Stewart who was known to have kicked off her shoes on the French red carpet and spoke about the alleged strict dress code where women had to wear heels.
