Naatu Naatu wins first Golden Globes for Best Original Song

The 2023 Golden Globes will take place in California. The fact that the Indian film RRR received two nominations for Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu and Best Picture makes this year’s ceremony unique for a number of reasons. In a first for India, the movie’s performance of Naatu Naatu won the Best Original Song Golden Globe for the year. The song’s lyrics were written by Kala Bhairavi and Rahul Sipligunj, and it was composed by MM Keeravaani, a seasoned music director.
Along with the crew, SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, and Jr. NTR attended the awards ceremony. After accepting the prize, MM Keeravaani thanked all of her admirers for their support. But he initially used the chance to laud SS Rajamouli for his artistic vision. As she praised the director for his support, Keeravaani declared, “This honour belongs to my brother SS Rajamouli.” He also complimented Prem Rakshit and Kala Bhairava, lyricist Chandra Bose and NTR and Ram Charan ‘who danced with complete vigour’. He thanked his wife Srivalli before departing.
The Telugu language film has also received a nomination for Best Picture for non-English films. The film collected nearly Rs 1200 crore worldwide.
Naatu Naatu had a tough fight against four other nominees in the list, including Taylor Swift’s Carolina from Where The Crawdads Sing, Ciao Papa from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick’ and Rihanna’s Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
