Arijit Singh may have stepped away from regular playback singing, but his latest song, Jai Jai Ram from Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited Ramayana, has already created a buzz. Interestingly, the track reportedly took nearly 200 takes to record — and the reason has more to do with emotion than perfection.
According to a reports, Arijit Singh became deeply immersed in the devotional mood of the song while recording it. Rather than simply focusing on the technical aspects of the performance, the singer reportedly kept exploring different emotional shades with every take.
A source quoted by the publication said that Arijit was so emotionally connected to Jai Jai Ram that he did not want to stop recording. Eventually, he is said to have let go of the technicalities and completely surrendered himself to the feeling of the song.
The track has been sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, with music composed by AR Rahman and lyrics penned by Dr Kumar Vishwas. The song is presented as a fresh interpretation of the devotional Jai Siya Ram.
The music video offers glimpses of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, including their wedding and their journey through Ayodhya in a chariot, where people shower them with flowers.
Ramayana’s Release Date
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in pivotal roles. The first part of the two-part epic is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 6, 2026, while the second instalment is slated for Diwali 2027.
The film also features Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh and Vivek Oberoi.
The makers have reportedly mounted the ambitious project on a massive budget of around Rs 4,000 crore.
