Varun Dhawan walked into India’s Got Latent Season 2 ready for some comedy, but ended up becoming one of the biggest targets of the episode’s jokes.
The actor appeared on Samay Raina’s show alongside comedian Sharon Verma, comedian Nishant Tanwar and 12th Fail actor Medha Shankr. From Varun’s old Dilwale comment to his recent film Border 2, Samay and Sharon left no opportunity to pull his leg.
Varun, meanwhile, took the jokes in the right spirit and laughed along with the panel.
Samay Raina Jokes That the Show Is ‘Going Down’
Samay wasted no time roasting Varun.
While talking about the big Bollywood names who have appeared on the show, Samay said:
“I have got such big stars after the FIR – Alia Bhatt and now Varun Dhawan, the show keeps going down.”
The joke left Varun laughing.
Varun then revealed that he is a fan of India’s Got Latent and watches the show alone. He also admitted that he knew something would go off once he came on the show.
Samay immediately fired back:
“Something has gone off, you are here.”
The exchange had Varun and the panel in splits.
Sharon Verma Brings Up Varun’s ‘Dilwale Is Like Inception’ Comment
Sharon Verma then brought up one of Varun’s most memorable statements from the past.
She told the actor:
“I am a big fan of you Varun. My favourite performance is when you said ‘Dilwale is like Inception.’”
The comment referred to Varun’s old statement about Dilwale, his 2015 film with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
Varun explained that he had actually been trying to make a joke when he made the comparison, but the joke clearly did not have the reaction he expected.
Sharon’s reference to the statement once again turned it into a funny moment on the show.
Samay Raina Asks Varun: ‘Why Did You Spoil Border 2?’
Samay then shifted his attention to Varun’s recent release Border 2.
During a segment, a contestant asked the panel to choose between numbers one to five. Varun picked number one and said:
“I like 1.”
Samay instantly connected the answer to Border 2 and asked:
“Why did you spoil Border 2 then?”
Varun defended the film, pointing out that it had made money.
The quick exchange between the two became another highlight of the episode, with Varun once again taking the roast sportingly.
Samay Gives Varun’s Next Film a New Name
Samay had another joke ready when he asked Varun to name his latest film.
Varun mentioned Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
Samay then gave the title his own hilarious twist:
“Hai papa director toh actor toh hona he hai.”
The unexpected punchline added another layer to the roast and left the panel laughing.
Varun Dhawan Takes Every Joke Sportingly
Despite being the centre of several jokes, Varun remained a good sport throughout the episode.
From Samay’s comments about his films to Sharon bringing up his old statements, the actor laughed along and joined in on the banter.
The episode has already given social media plenty of entertaining clips, with viewers getting a glimpse of Varun in a completely different setting.

Varun has also spoken about his excitement over appearing on Samay Raina’s comedy show, saying that he enjoys both performing and watching comedy. He praised Samay’s unpredictable style and said he wanted to experience the show live.
His appearance also comes as India’s Got Latent begins its new chapter as a Netflix-exclusive show.
