In a recent interview with Mamaraazzi, Dheeraj opened up about his approach to the show and why he consciously chose not to manufacture conflicts just for screen time.

“Think ho ke andar jaake chillana hai, andar jaake ladna hai. Andar jaake we have to create issues, we have to pick fights and all. But I said that I am not going to do that,” he explained, making it clear that he had no intention of turning confrontations into a strategy.
For Dheeraj, the show was less about creating a larger-than-life persona and more about owning his own truth.
“I’m gonna show that the whole show is about owning your own truth. Yeah, so that’s what I did. This is my personality. This is the person I am. I will not pick unnecessary fights with you just to have more screen space,” he said.
His decision, however, also meant challenging the idea of what a reality-show contestant is expected to bring to the table. Dheeraj recalled a comment from Khanna about him not displaying enough “main character energy” — a perception he clearly sees differently.
“Main character energy dikhayi nahi jaati. People should feel when you are inside in a room. And that’s what I believe in,” he said.
And perhaps that sums up Dheeraj’s entire strategy inside the house: he did not want to announce his presence; he wanted people to feel it.
Reality television, of course, is built around heightened emotions, and contestants are often pushed into situations where their more confrontational sides emerge. Dheeraj acknowledged that this is part of the format and even understood why the makers might push contestants in a particular direction.
“Show ka premise hai, but mujhe samajh mein isliye bhi nahi aayi because mujhe lagta hai ki kahin na kahin woh makers ki choice hai ki woh push karte hain aapko us tareeke se ki aapki jo alag ek cheez, jo personality hai, woh nikal ke aaye,” he reflected.
He agreed that bringing out different sides of contestants is necessary for a show of this nature. But there was one line he was unwilling to cross — pretending to be someone he wasn’t.
