EXCLUSIVE: Tanishaa Mukerji Opens Up on ‘Traumatic’ Bigg Boss Experience: “People Used My Family’s Name Just for Screen Time”

Tanishaa Mukerji has finally spoken candidly about her painful experience inside the Bigg Boss house, calling it “traumatic” and revealing how contestants allegedly dragged her family into the spotlight purely for attention and screen time.

In an explosive conversation with Mamaraazzi, Tanishaa reflected on the emotional toll the reality show took on her and why she would never put herself in such a vulnerable position again.

Talking about how contestants constantly mentioned her famous family during the show, Tanishaa didn’t hold back. She said:

“I had no idea till I came out of the house that people were actually going to the camera and talking about me and saying things about my sister and my brother-in-law just to get screen time.”

The actress, who comes from one of Bollywood’s most celebrated film families, admitted she entered the show with complete innocence and never imagined her loved ones would become targets inside the house.

“I think it was my naivety… but today I know I will never put myself in that position again where anybody has any right to say anything about my family because of me.”

Tanishaa further revealed that not just contestants, but even the channel’s narrative around her family upset her deeply.

“They said things like, ‘Why is her family not coming to see her in the house?’ I was like you’re paying them? They are massive celebrities. You’re willing to pay them three-four crores, they’ll come. You’re not willing to pay them, why should they come for free? This is a TV show. Everybody here is getting paid.”

The actress also took a sharp dig at the behavior and upbringing of some contestants from her season, saying she was shocked by the kind of personal attacks made inside the house.

“Not once did I say, ‘What kind of family do you come from?’ or ‘What has your mother taught you?’ Those are not words we use. I come from a different upbringing.”

Tanishaa emphasized that she never involved anyone’s family members during arguments, unlike others in the house who repeatedly used celebrity names for footage and attention.

Her honest revelations have now reignited conversations around the emotional impact of reality television and the toxic lengths contestants sometimes go to for visibility.

Years after her stint on the show, Tanishaa’s words offer a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the psychological pressure of living under constant cameras especially when family becomes part of the game.
