Manav Gohil Opens Up on ‘Dhurandhar’ Journey, Admits He Wasn’t the First Choice

Television actor Manav Gohil is currently enjoying the massive success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which has emerged as a box office phenomenon, crossing the ₹1000 crore mark globally. Even weeks after its release, the film continues to dominate conversations across social media and among audiences.
In an exclusive interaction, Manav Gohil spoke candidly about his experience working on the Aditya Dhar directorial, headlined by Ranveer Singh. The actor revealed that he was not the initial choice for the role, a factor that added a layer of pressure during his early days on set.

“I Was Nervous…” — Manav Gohil Recalls His First Day

Manav Gohil plays a composed and strategic intelligence officer in the film, acting as a crucial link between Ranveer Singh’s character Hamza and the top Indian intelligence system. While his performance has been widely appreciated, the actor revealed that his first day on set was far from smooth.
    Recounting the experience, he said:

“The first day of the shoot we did, I was in Bangkok. In the scene, we are bottling down the last bit with Ranveer and telling him that now he has to go.”

He further shared a moment where he struggled with a key dialogue involving Ranveer’s character:

“Ranveer’s mother’s name is Prabneet, not Prabjit. I kept saying Parabjit. I fumbled a couple of times, but I managed somehow.”

Pressure of Not Being the First Choice

The actor didn’t shy away from admitting that knowing he wasn’t the original pick for the role made him more conscious during his performance. Sharing his state of mind, he said:

“I was nervous, because there was Maddy (R Madhavan), Ranveer and the sense that I was not the first choice. Aditya is observing very keenly whether this was a mistake or not. So, I was very precarious. I treaded very carefully. He had his instructions, which were supporting me a little.”

His honest admission sheds light on the behind-the-scenes pressure actors often face, especially when stepping into a role under such circumstances.

From Nervous Start to Massive Success
Despite the initial jitters, Manav Gohil’s performance turned out to be a strong pillar in the film’s narrative. With R. Madhavan and Ranveer Singh leading the charge, the film has gone on to become one of the biggest blockbusters in recent times.

Manav’s journey in Dhurandhar: The Revenge stands as a testament to perseverance and adaptability, proving that even uncertain beginnings can lead to remarkable success when backed by dedication and craft.
