Shefali Shah has been basking in the glory of Delhi Crime Season 3’s success. The series received global recognition after it was nominated and won an Emmy Award in the category of ‘Best Drama Series’ in the year 2020. Talking about all that and the experience on set while shooting for series Shefali Shah talks about a particular scene that was quite challenging for her to a level that it left her bawling on the bathroom floor in a vanity van.
The actress remembering the exact day of the shoot said, “In (Delhi Crime) season 1, the interrogation scene, when that guy tells in detail what he did to her. I can’t tell you how all of us in the room, we wanted to kill him. And he was an actor! I wanted to tear his eyes out… you know the kind of anger… that was a very strong moment.”
Shefali further touches upon another scene that we was petrified of shooting. She says, “In DC 1 there was another sequence that I was petrified of. I remember before starting the shoot, I was in the van… in the toilet… on the floor… crying!… because I just did not want to get out of the van ’cause it meant I had to do the scene which I was petrified of.” Talking about the exact scene she points out, “When she (Vartika Chaturvedi) gives the instructions. You know when she comes out of the hospital after seeing her for the first time… it was a 12 page scene and nobody else says anything. And she’s just barking orders. I told Richie can you please send the actors home? We’re shooting in the middle of the night, you know please take their shots and send them home… I’m making an a$$ of myself in front of these people. He was like no, but they want to stay for you. All the actors were like all our sympathies are with you…” Highlighting on a trivia, Shefai revealed that this particular scene in the show has cuts when in reality this was shot in one take. Kudos to you Shefali Shah for pulling this one of.
With the accolades the third season of Delhi Crime has received, here’s hoping this season too makes it to the Emmy’s nominations and makes us all proud just like the last time.
