The makers of Border 2 are announcing new cast members regularly. Diljit Dosanjh is an actor with exceptional multi-talent and has performed in Punjabi films and Bollywood films. Diljit Dosanjh has been cast in Border 2 and it has added to the already spectacular cast including of Deol and Dhawan. He is known for his acclaimed performance as Amar Singh Chamkila in Imtiaz Ali’s movie, Dosanjh will painting a real-existence character in this Indo-Pak war-drama. While specifics about his role are nevertheless underneath wraps, Dosanjh is excited to play a military officer and could start getting ready for the shoot shortly. He had also worked in Jatt & Juliet (2012), he played as Fateh, a love struck and comical Punjabi boy. He was quite different in Punjab 1984 (2014), in which he portrayed Shivjeet, a young man caught up in political unrest. Diljit also found use for the fantasy comedy in Sardaar Ji (2015) where he played a ghostbuster in London. Among others, Udta Punjab (2016) in which he appears as Sartaj, a policeman fighting drug trafficking in Punjab is worth mentioning. His talent to adapt to comedic, dramatic and social matters is really commendable.
Border 2 is the sequel to the 1997 film Border, directed by J.P. Dutta. The original film, celebrated for its depiction of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, centered on the courageous defense of the Longewala post and highlighted the valor and sacrifices of Indian soldiers. Border 2 aims to continue this legacy by offering a fresh storyline and new characters, expanding the narrative beyond the original’s scope. Sunny Deol returns, reprising his role from the first film, but the rest of the original cast will not be featured.
