Another day, another motivation to admire or fear artificial intelligence. Another completely arbitrary query led to the creation of images of Hollywood celebrities ‘finding themselves’ in India using the AI programme Midjourney. Scarlett Johansson, Emilia Clarke, Natalie Portman, Zendaya, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie, and Emma Watson were all depicted in the images alongside AI-imagined versions of themselves.
In the AI-created images, the actresses are primarily wearing saffron sarees and accessorising with bindis, desi bangles, earrings, and rudraksha beads around their necks. Scenes behind them depicted monks and common citizens strolling through temples, and some even wore veils over their heads. All of the women present genuine smiles and attractive appearances.
Sharing the images, the original poster wrote on Instagram, “In a captivating scenario, imagine a Hollywood female actress, known for her glamorous appearances on the silver screen, deciding to embark on a spiritual journey in India. She embraces the path of an Indian monk and finds herself walking the ancient streets of Varanasi, a city renowned for its profound spirituality and religious significance.”
Reacting to the photos, a fan said, “Superb. Loved this series.” Another wrote, “Black widow kitni mast lag rahi hai bahi (Black Widow looks too good).” “Once again…marvellous…so beautifully done work,” commented another.
