A lot of people are fans of popular playback singer Arijit Singh. The singer is not only known for his melodious voice but also for his humble and down-to-earth nature. He still lives a pretty simple life back in his hometown Murshidabad in West Bengal.
A video of the singer going grocery shopping on a scooter is going viral. Carrying a bag for groceries, the playback singer is seen exchanging pleasantries with his neighbours in a video posted on Facebook. Speaking in Bengali, Singh shares how his wife went to a blood bank and says that he has been doing well. Then he is seen getting on the scooter and driving off.
“So down to earth,” commented a user. “Simplicity level Arijit Singh,” said another. “Wow. He is the highest paid singer,” posted a third. “My favorite,” wrote another netizen.
For the unversed, Arijit Singh was born to a Punjabi Sikh father Kakkar Singh and a Bengali Hindu mother Aditi Singh in Jiaganj, Murshidabad. He participated in the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005 and various other shows. However, he did not receive widespread recognition until the release of songs like ‘Tum Hi Ho’ and ‘Chahun Main Ya Naa’ in the film Aashiqui 2 in 2013.
