Actor-host Mini Mathur recently posted some throwback images from her MTV days on the photo-sharing app Instagram. In addition, she shared the advice she would give her younger self if she could turn the clock back. She started the message by stating that she had been attempting to make some room in her “head, heart, and mailbox” this month. She said that it’s amusing to read things from as far back as 2006, including the kinds of things she was anticipating as well as what she wrote, said, wore, and worried about.
Mini Mathur said she wished she could go back in time and tell her 20-year-old self not to worry about fitting into a box because all she was going to want to do for the rest of her life was step out of it.
She continued by saying that she would have advised her 20-year-old self to constantly maintain a bubble around herself that no one was permitted to burst, not to rush to accomplish anything at all, not to let other people control or determine your emotions, and to keep a small nest egg that no one was allowed to use. She added to the list that she should have resisted anyone who tried to convince her that she wasn’t good enough, would have taken as many trips as she could, eaten the best meals at the best restaurants, allowed herself to be romanced until she got bored, and purchased those shoes one really, truly desired, and to not be as cautious or to strictly adhere to the playbook’s instructions.
She went on to say that each decade brings about amazing developments that help people grow as individuals. She remarked that life has a wonderful way of working out for everyone. She then requested suggestions from her followers and friends for their younger selves.
She is one of India’s best-known TV program hosts, serving as host over several seasons of the singing competition Indian Idol. In addition, Mini Mathur co-starred with fellow MTV VJ Cyrus Sahukar in the well-liked Amazon Prime online series Mind the Malhotras as the protagonist character.
