Samantha and Varun Dhawan, who will be seen in the Indian spin-off of Citadel, recently attended the London premiere of Prime Video’s web series. At the event, The Family Man 2 actress interacted with the press and spoke about playing the action-oriented role in the spy thriller. However, it is her accent that has caught Twitter’s attention.
Samantha made heads turn in a black ensemble after she attended the global premiere of the Russo Brothers series, Citadel. A clip featuring Samantha talking about her role in Citadel to the media has emerged online. However, her accent has received mixed reviews from the netizens.
In the video, Samantha along with Varun Dhawan can be seen talking about being part of the Indian version of Citadel, and how she’s excited to be joining such a big universe.
But netizens felt that the diva is faking her accent and a user wrote, “What’s with these Indian actors? When they travel to the US, why does a different accent kick in?” Several others also shared that Samantha’s accent is starkly different from her original one.
This is not the first time that the stars have been subjected to online trolling for their accent. Earlier, At the Golden Globes, RRR star Jr. NTR, who was present at the prestigious award show, also mocked the actor for his Western accent.
