Ranveer Singh has been one of the biggest finds of Yash Raj Films, with his debut with Band Baaja Baaraat, he set the industry expectations on fire. He followed it up with hits like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Simmba and Gully Boy. But somehow Yash Raj Films’ collaboration with Ranveer hasn’t been as successful. They have worked together in 5 films since Ranveer’s debut.
As per a report in an entertainment portal, YRF is right now heavily concentrated on pushing its YRF Spy Universe and each film requires its complete commitment. A lot will be riding on these spy films, pushing the studio’s future ahead. But that doesn’t mean that they will not produce other content, the report states that YRF will continue work on other projects, which includes a recently announced web show with Vaani Kapoor.
But amidst all of this development, the studio heads feel that there is no space for Ranveer Singh in their projects as of now. It should be duly noted that the actor very recently parted ways with the studio, they were in charge of managing his dates and his advertisement contracts.
Films like Ladies VS Ricky Bahl, Gunday, Jayeshbhai Jordar, Kill Dil, Befikre though not successful at the box office, made money courtesy their OTT and satellite rights deals for YRF. But it is being said that the far from impressive track record of YRF-Ranveer’s alliance is the main reason behind the studio’s decision to go easy with the ‘Cirkus’ star’s future projects.
