Kapil Dev, also referred to as the Haryana Hurricane, is the best all-around fast bowler India has ever produced. He won the 1983 World Cup for India and will always be recognised for his aggressive batting style and out swings.
In 2002, Kapil Dev received the title of “Indian Cricketer of the Century.” Additionally, the Indian government has recognised him with the Arjuna Award and the Padma Bhushan awards.
The BCCI and Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar wished him on social media today for his birthday. Sharing an old photo of himself smiling with Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar wrote: “When a ten-year-old child saw Kapil Dev hoist the World Cup in 1983, he began to dream of India winning another one. I was that boy. Cheers to Kapil Paaji’s birthday! May you keep inspiring many people “.
