After listening to a new song recently, Pakistani singer Sajjad Ali posted a video on social media saying it made him think of one of his older songs. Sajjad released a video of himself singing his song, Ab Ke Hum Bichare, on Instagram last week. However, his song and Besharam Rang from Pathaan were compared by fans. The name of the song that made him think of his song was not, however, taken by the singer.
Sajjad began the video by saying in Hindi, “I was enjoying some new movie soundtracks on YouTube. One of my older tunes from 25–26 years ago came to mind. Allow me to sing it to you.” He sung a few lines from Ab Ke Hum Bichare as someone played the music.
The post’s caption reads, “I was reminded of my song Ab Ke Hum Bichare, which I published 26 years ago, after hearing the soundtrack of a recent film. Enjoy!!” Someone responded to the post by saying, “Besharam sounds like this…” “This sounds like Besharam Rang from Pathaan,” another admirer commented.
“Sounds like kisi nazar, raag bhairavi no one has a copyright,” another comment read. “Bollywood should better pay royalties,” a person on Instagram wrote. But this is the gazal of famous Mehdi Hassan Saab, a social media user said. “I was certain that I had heard that song before. Sir, you are a legend “another individual added.
Since the song was released last month, Besharam Rang has encountered difficulties. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are seen dancing in Spain in the song’s video. The song’s scene with Deepika Padukone wearing an orange bikini sparked outrage across India for allegedly offending religious sensibilities. Shilpa Rao sings the song, which was written by Vishal-Sheykhar and features lyrics by Kumaar. The censor board has now ordered the film’s creators to make some “changes,” including to the songs.
With some people asking for a boycott of the movie, Pathaan finds itself embroiled in controversy. The movie is slated to premiere on January 25. Shah Rukh, who will play a gun-toting spy with a licence to kill, is joined by John Abraham in the action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand.
