Rashmika Mandanna

Rashmika Mandanna asserts “South film is all about masala and item numbers”. The internet is irate

When word spread that Rashmika Mandanna had been banned from the Kannada film business, it made headlines last month. The actress is currently in hot water over a remark she made at the Mission Majnu song premiere. She claimed that although Bollywood was intended for romantic songs for her as a child, South cinema was all about mass masala, item and dance numbers. The South’s residents did not appreciate this remark.
Rashmika Mandanna received criticism in November for her lack of appreciation for the Kannada film industry, where she made her acting debut. She published a lengthy essay detailing the vicious trolling she was experiencing.
Rashmika Mandanna recently caused a commotion during the Rabba Janda song launch of Sidharth Malhotra’s Mission Majnu. She stated: “Bollywood had its share of love tunes. Growing up, love tunes meant Bollywood songs to me. We have mass masala, item numbers, and dance numbers in the South. My first Bollywood love song is this one. I am ecstatic since it is excellent (sic).”
This remark was poorly received and infuriated online users. Many people have emphasised that South Asian cinema is not all about masala and item numbers. Others criticised Rashmika for being unappreciative of South Indian cinema and urged her to remember her roots. Netizens cruelly tormented her.
