It would be an understatement to say that everyone has had a difficult time during the past two years. In numerous ways, the pandemic has disrupted our lives, and Bollywood was no exception. Even after the theatres reopened, business remained poor, and it took the sector over a year to slowly resume normalcy.
Filmmaker Rohit Shetty recently discussed the industry’s lean period and remarked that one year cannot be used as a standard for determining the future of movies. The Simmba filmmaker went on to say that the last two years, which have been tainted by the epidemic, have been lukewarm because many films were shelved and some never even got out. Movies like Sooryavanshi, The Kashmir Files, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and the most recent Drishyam 2, released this year, helped the industry emerge from its gloomy period last year.
Rohit Shetty continued by saying that while certain huge movies have performed poorly even in the South, it is not the end of the world.
The audience applauded Rohit for his openness in responding to the question, and many people could be heard cheering him on.
