Marilyn Monroe’s biopic Blonde is being criticised for reportedly being misogynistic and sexist.
Filmmaker Andrew had tried to recreate some chapters of her life, including heartbreaks and tragedies endured by Monroe in the film. Be it about her growing up with her abusive mother to various sexual assaults in Hollywood. However, the over-exploitative portrayal of Monroe’s life and journey has not been received well.
Users shared outrage over the filmmaker highlighting only selective sides of Monroe’s journey, which comes across as extremely sexist.
