Kaushaljis Vs Kaushal Review : Ashutosh Rana & Sheeba Chadha steal the show in this heartwarming family drama!

”Directed by Seemaa Desai, Kaushaljis vs Kaushal is a beautifully woven, deeply touching film that explores love, self-discovery, and the ever-changing dynamics of family relationships. Starring Ashutosh Rana, Sheeba Chaddha, and Pavail Gulati, the film masterfully balances emotion, humor, and heart.”

    Overall Rating : 3.5/5

Cast : Ashutosh Rana, Sheeba Chaddha, Pavail Gulati and Isha Talwar

    Director : Seemaa Desai

Plot : This is the story of Ashutosh Rana and Sheeba Chaddha and their indifferences and passions. Rana, also known as Kaushal Ji, lives in Kannauj with his wife. He is a professional accountant but has a deep passion for Qawwali. His wife, Sheeba Chaddha, is a housewife, but she loves making perfumes. However, both of them are unable to pursue their passions and dreams. Their son, Pavail Gulati, works in Noida, while their daughter is also away, working for an NGO. One day, the couple decides to get a divorce. But their son’s girlfriend, Isha Talwar, wants a family that stays together. What happens next? You’ll find out when you watch the film!

What We Loved : Ashutosh Rana and Sheeba Chaddha bring this film to life with their effortless and nuanced performances. Their on-screen chemistry makes the Kaushals feel like a genuine couple—one that has quietly set aside their dreams in the face of responsibilities.

What We Liked : Pavail Gulati shines as Yug, perfectly capturing the conflict of a son torn between his own aspirations and the expectations of his family.

Isha Talwar and Deeksha Joshi stand out in their roles, enriching the family’s emotional journey with depth. Grusha Kapoor, with her impactful screen presence, adds a compelling dimension to the story, while the ever-dependable Brijendra Kala infuses the film with his trademark charm, blending humor and wisdom in a way that keeps it grounded in reality. Each actor plays a vital part in making Kaushaljis vs Kaushal feel authentic and lived-in.

What Is Special? : The film seamlessly balances emotion and humor, never over-dramatizing its poignant moments. Instead, it lets the story unfold organically with genuine warmth. The dialogues feel incredibly relatable, reflecting everyday conversations that will resonate with many Indian families.

Director’s Cap : Seemaa Desai has directed the film and co-written it with Siddharth Goyal. The direction is commendable, and the writing is powerful. Films like these are much needed in today’s times but are rarely made. The directors have brought out the best in the actors, weaving in moments that will leave you teary-eyed. And if a film can make you cry, it has truly touched your heart.

Conclusion : For today’s generation, a WiFi connection often holds more importance than a family connection. This dialogue from the film rings true—despite being physically present with our families, we often remain emotionally distant, living under the same roof like strangers.

Most OTT content these days isn’t exactly family-friendly, but once in a while, a film comes along that isn’t just about family but is meant to be watched with family. One such film has arrived on Jio Hotstar—Kaushaljis vs Kaushal. Watch this one for your parents and with your parents!
