Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa have done numerous films together and next in line is, ‘Kudi Haryane Val Di’ which is a romantic-comedy set in Punjab. The trailer got rave reviews and their onscreen pairing which produces bonafide blockbusters is also being loved by the audience. Both the actors who enjoy a loyal and a huge fan-base were in Mumbai to promote their movie and gave out several interesting answers.

When they were asked to break a prevalent myth about the Punjabi film-industry which floats around, they both were quick to respond. While Sonam said, ‘Punjab me sirf comedy films banti hai’ and this is one myth she wants to break. On the other side, Ammy cleared about the rates which Punjabi artists charge to do work be it movies or music videos. The actor said that it is a myth that people think Punjabi artists will be ready to sign a project at much lesser charges than actors from Bollywood.

The actor said, ”Mostly in our industry, there are no major myths around it because it is a small industry and it is growing day by day. So a lot of things are clear about us in the Punjabi industry. People sitting in Mumbai who are making movies or they are ADs who approach artists from Punjab to work here think that they have a penny type mentality and they will sign a project under a certain figure. We charge a lot more than the people working here in Mumbai. Not everyone, but 10-20 percent of people think that these people will come easily and they have dates. They assume that we are free only and they just have to arrange the dates for the actors doing the lead roles here, Ammy and all these will be readily available. It is not that we charge a lot of money but we dont come at a cheap place and the problem is that we actually dont have dates because we just don’t do movies but also have shows and concerts lined up. So these are the few myths which makers in Mumbai have abut the artists coming from Punjab.”
